WWFC's New Events Coordinator
Woodingdean Wanderers FC are pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Martin as its new Events Coordinator.
Amy returns to the Club after a few years away, which were spent concentrating on her young Family, while they were at school.
As Events coordinator, Amy and her team of volunteers (Players Parents) successfully won the prestigious “Float of Year” award, at the Woodingdean Carnival in 2015
Her first task will be to organise a Working Committee to start preparations for this Seasons Presentation Day.
This “Must not Miss!” Event, relies solely on volunteers, (Mum’s, Dad’s, Carer’s, Nanny’s, Grandad’s, Auntie’s, Uncle’s & Friend’s) to help with preparations in the lead up and on the day, this can be an hour of your time or more if you are available .
Amy will be hosting a preliminary meeting to discuss the Event on Wednesday 22nd January 7.00 pm at the (Office) Downs Hotel, Woodingdean and it would be great to see as many of you there as possible, so we can set to work in organising the best presentation for your children and the club.
Please can you let Amy know if you can make it or, alternatively, if you can’t make the meeting but would like to help then please email Amy at fifoot@btinternet.com.
The Club are so pleased that Amy has found time to return to Club. We know, that with your help and support, our Presentation Day will keep with tradition and continue to be the Highlight Event of the Season!

Welcome to Woodingdean Wanderers Football Club 2018/19 season
As always I will start by offering a very warm welcome to all players, parents/carers, coaches, volunteers & supporters for the 2018/19 football season, I would also like to extend a special welcome to all our new teams joining us this coming season.
Once again the club has seen significant growth over the last 12 months & this coming season we will be fielding Fifteen teams, in an exciting development we now have a team playing in the Mid Sussex Youth & Minor League to add to our other youth teams playing in the Sussex Sunday Youth League & our new adult team will be playing in the Sussex Sunday league.
The club continues to develop & grow year on year, as an established Charter Standard club we now look towards our next goal of achieving the highly sought after ‘Charter Standard Development club status’ this will represent another important step on the journey to cementing our position as one of the best community football clubs in the county.
The 2018/19 season will see the club reach its largest ever number of registered players, as I write this column we are expecting that to be around 196 players! The fifteen teams each have a level 1 FA qualified coach as a minimum (a number have level 2 coaches), we have a very strong Committee of dedicated volunteers, tea hut helpers & many others who give up their time voluntarily to support this fantastic community club – my sincere thanks go out to every one of you!
Our goals for next season include:
• Apply for & achieve Charter Standard Development club status
• Continue to develop our facilities, including new secure storage for the club maintenance equipment, new playing space for our younger teams & investing in the installation of safe access to the pitches for all spectators, including those who are less able.
• Implement our new 3 year plan
• Strengthen our club Committee & volunteer base (we are looking for new members)
• Continue to offer all our members the best opportunities in a safe & fun environment
Our handbook aims to provide every member of the club with some useful & very important information on the club as follows:
Policies & Procedures, contact information, details of the FA respect campaign, website links & of course a thank you to all our club sponsors – please have a look at this page & support those local businesses.
We enter another season stronger than we have ever been, with new teams & new challenges, as always I hope to meet with as many of you as possible over the course of the season
My final word this year is to wish all our teams the best of luck for another successful season.
Best regards
